Children today are exposed to a wide variety of news and entertainment through television and movies and alot of parents are concerned that increased exposure to media -- and especially television -- promotes increased violent tendencies or promiscuous sexual behavior. Groups like the Parents Television Council advocate more government regulation of television programming. In this op-ed, my colleague Adam Thierer at the Cato Institute cautions parents who want the government to take over in this area.
